Digitalization, big data, artificial intelligence, and other technologies are paving the way for a smart work environment with marked automation—and life feels so good. But wait! Are we missing a crucial point? Technology glitz has blinded business decision-makers, and they are heading toward a dangerous pitfall where humans will no longer be calling the shots. Team CyberTech Engineering calls out the blind race for increased digitalization that doesn’t have human beings at its core. “We have arrived to give the decision-making powers back to humans. The strategy is to build systems that learn from humans and provide the right data back to them to make informed decisions in business and industrial environments,” says Pascal Soltermann, CEO of CyberTech.

The company began chasing its mission by eying on the first milestone: to build a solution that connects legacy machines with today’s digitally-driven machines and other existing system components in a typical industry 4.0 environment. The second milestone was to build a stronger connection between shopfloor and information and communication technologies (ICTs). With a team that has a thorough understanding of languages used in shop floor and ICT, CyberTech knew it was a matter of time before it developed innovative solutions to that end.

CyberTech’s vision took form through HumanOS, a pioneering IoT solution that allows companies to build tools using which their teams can make crucial decisions while automating mundane tasks. The solution is reliable, flexible, and is easy to implement, making it simple for companies from across industries to develop quality solutions efficiently. HumanOS can be implemented in the existing environments as it connects devices/machines and business applications.

“Built on the highest security standard, the solution (available in the on-premise or cloud formats) does not need permanent internet connection to operate,” says Benjamin Hadorn, CTO of CyberTech.

HumanOS has paved the way for useful applications that are solving real-world problems in the industry. For instance, SmartMES is an application that provides real-time access to data across multiple platforms, enabling manufacturers to operate 24/7 cost-efficiently. The solution can also be used for tracking each machine component, raising alarms, and carrying out predictive maintenance of the shopfloor. In another use case, a life cycle management tool measures machine life and collects relevant machine data within an RFID-ring, making the data readily available to workers at any time. Furthermore, HumanOS improves the quality management of a full production process by allowing users to monitor quality.

“Our next-generation framework of HumanOS allows us to be nimble and agile,” says Hadorn. The framework quickly adapts to client requirements with simple reconfigurations of connectors and services. CyberTech develops its solutions based on SCRUMModel that helps clients maximize their business value. Besides, the firm has tremendous experience in mechanical and information technology engineering that allows it to understand clients’ needs and implement the best solutions.

A case in point, Pavese AG, a client of CyberTech, adopted SmartMES to automate production and increase productivity. Working with the clients’ ERP system, HumanOS automated the production lines by writing down the orders to the EROWA-Control- System and allowed the client to run production 24/7. Another client FRAISA SA uses the HumanOS platform as the central data hub to connect machine controls with the RFID writer. This enabled the client to calculate tool costs and decide when to use or change the tool for the specific production orders.

As the latest use case, CyberTech has launched ctSchool that rolls out notebooks for teachers and students automatically. With the growing demand for automation, the company looks forward to investing more in the plug and produce technology domain to develop intelligent systems that integrate swiftly with the client’s technology ecosystem. CyberTech aims to simplify its existing operations to ensure clients can configure and implement HumanOS easier than before.
